Martin Gardner's Memoirs

title     title

Undiluted Hocus-Pocus: The Autobiography of Martin Gardner was written by Martin in 2009 and early 2010, being completed soon before he died. He left the manuscript with his son Jim, who placed it with Princeton University Press.

It finally appeared in Sep 2013, running to 288 pages in total, including 54 photos spread over 24 pages. It has a 12-page foreword by renowned magician and statistician Persi Diaconis, who first met Martin in 1959, as well as a 5-page Afterward by another longtime friend, magician and skeptic James Randi.

It comes with ringing endorsements from John H. Conway, Roger Penrose, Ron Graham, Armand T. Ringer, David Singmaster and others.

There's a great Wild About Math blog about how this book came about, and what modifications were made to the manuscript before it was published.

The Twitterfeed What Would Martin Gardner Tweet? tweets excepts from this volume daily.
